A Case Study on Oceanik Clay

A 25 year old white female presented to my office with a complaint of chronic acne. She stated that the acne had started with the onset of puberty and continued on to present day. This woman described the condition as large, cystic acne that grew to the size of a dime or a nickel. These would open, drain, then bleed; and in many instances cause scarring on her face. Breakouts were worse around the time of her cycle indicating a possible hormonal connection.

Many different products were employed to alleviate this condition. She had begun with the non-prescription products (Benzo-peroxide) and had resorted to using prescription products from a dermatologist. In each of these conditions, there were side effects and little change. An example of the side effects were enlargement of facial pores.

Treatment using the Oceanik Clay was begun, first on a daily basis, then weekly. I was told that the initial response of her face was that it erupted without the cycle being present. The cystic acne began, yet never came to a head, and disappeared before they drained. Upon the onset of her menstrual cycle she was pleased to see that this came without the usual eruption. There has been little to no eruption since. Currently she uses the Oceanik Clay once every 2-3 weeks as a preventive. She also commented that the pores have shrunk to a non-visible size.
